Collection relating to Pablo González and the Mexican Revolution, 1911-1969 (bulk 1912-1920) [microform].

Microfilm of manuscripts; correspondence; reports; printed material; lists; financial, official and legal documents; maps; and photographs pertaining to the military career and political ideology of General Pablo González. Reel 1 and part of reel 2 contain the military service records of González. The rest of reel 2 holds two manuscripts: "El centinela fiel del constitucionalismo," a biography of González written by his son, Pablo González, and "Heróicos cuerpos de ejército del noreste y oriente del Gral. Pablo González," an anonymous account of actions of troops commanded by González. Reels 3-35 contain the records of the Ejército del Oriente and Ejército del Noreste including correspondence, reports, lists of soldiers, and assorted materials (bulk dates 1912-1920). Reels 35-47 contain papers (bulk date 1913), primarily correspondence, relating to the military activities of General Felix Díaz. Reel 47 also holds the legajo "Averiguaciones previas ...," about the assassinations of Francisco I. Madero and José María Pino Suárez. On reels 48-56 is the series, Assorted Documents, which includes correspondence and other formats mentioned above, arranged variously by subject, format, and correspondent.

General, politician. Born 1879 in Lampasos de Naranjo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; died 1950 in Monterrey. Became a Maderist in 1910; fought against Pascual Orozco in 1913. In 1914 Pablo González organized and headed a division of the northeastern army corps, the Ejército del Noreste. In 1915 he was general in chief of the eastern army, the Ejército del Oriente, which overthrew the conventionists in Mexico City. In 1916 he directed the campaign against Emiliano Zapata's followers in Morelos. In 1919 ...
